Useful R package: picante

Posted on June 8, 2011 by Shan Huang — No Comments ↓

I have been trying out this package recently for some other projects. There are several functions (e.g. PD, PSV, etc) that are very handy for looking at phylogenetic structure of the species in different communities — alpha and beta diversity. I think this will be a good tool for the Continue reading Useful R package: picante→

Yesterday evening, I searched Google Scholar for the DOIs of the Pangaea datasets.  The results and search terms for this can be found in the Google Spreadsheet.  I found that 6.8 percent of datsets in Pangea had a hit on Google Scholar based on its DOI. We decided that Mendeley Continue reading June 7, 2011 – Morning update→

Seeking Nomenclature Feedback 2

Posted on June 6, 2011 by Jonathan Carlson — 3 Comments ↓

We are calling articles that are reusing data “Data Reuse Articles.”  What should we call articles that cite the Data Collection Article but do not reuse the data? In my preliminary searches I referred to these as “Doesn’t Reuse Data.” Some of our other suggestions: Only Cited By Reuse Candidate Continue reading Seeking Nomenclature Feedback 2→
