Last week I described the process of creating a model for integrating the data stories into Data Management Education Modules. After playing around with different design schemes and exchanging ideas with my mentor, we were able to zero in on a style that works! Integrating the data stories will be a work in progress for some time, but all the major features are in place to give us a good idea of what the final product will look like. While our end goal will remain the same, the final product will likely evolve as we refine some of the details and brainstorm new features to include in the modules.
One of my less exciting tasks in this leg of the project is formatting the stories to fit the space in the learning modules. Staring bug-eyed at a computer screen to determine whether or not a text box is off-center is not exactly my best look ever, but the crisp new design layout is worth the headache. Luckily for me, there is a fair amount of creative play in choosing colors and creating headings, so the excitement is alive and well!
